Dr. Rana Ahadi

Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine | Licensed Acupuncturist & Herbalist

Dr. Rana Ahadi, DACM, L.Ac, is a licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist specializing in sports injuries, orthopedic acupuncture, pain management, personal injury rehabilitation, and integrative oncology care. She is certified by the California Acupuncture Board, the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM) in Clean Needle Technique.

Rana first discovered the power of Eastern Medicine through her healing journey. Inspired by her transformative experience with acupuncture and herbal medicine, she immersed herself in research. She went on to study at the Pacific College of Health and Science in New York. She later moved to San Diego, where she completed her training and fell in love with the community and lifestyle.

In 2023, Rana’s sister, Dr. Malia Ahadi, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Walking closely beside her sister through surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and hormonal therapy, Rana witnessed not only the physical toll of cancer treatment but also the emotional and spiritual challenges that came with it. This experience deepened her dedication to oncology care. She pursued advanced training in Chinese Medicine for cancer patients—not only to support her sister during one of the hardest times in their lives, but also to serve others going through similar journeys. This chapter of her life transformed her practice, opening her heart and skillset to a wider community of patients in need of compassionate, integrative support.

In addition to oncology care, Dr. Rana has extensive experience in treating patients with personal injuries. She works with individuals recovering from auto accidents, workplace injuries, and falls—helping relieve symptoms such as whiplash, traumatic brain injury (TBI), neck and back pain, nerve damage, muscle strains, joint dysfunction, and chronic inflammation. Her approach combines hands-on acupuncture techniques with herbal support, movement therapy, and lifestyle counselling to aid recovery and restore function.

Dr. Rana believes deeply in holistic healing—treating the whole person, not just the symptoms—and takes time to understand each patient’s story. Her treatment plans are tailored with care, incorporating acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, and mind-body recommendations. She is passionate about bridging Eastern and Western medicine and continues to study, research, and observe the work of renowned integrative physicians.

Her clinical experience includes UCSD Cancer Center, Rady Children’s Hospital, Pacific College Clinics, UC San Diego’s RIMAC Sports Medicine Center, and several community clinics across San Diego.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, playing soccer, exploring new hobbies, traveling, and gazing at the night sky. Her journey alongside her sister and her patients has instilled in her a deep respect for resilience, love, and the healing power of human connection.

Dr. Malia Ahadi

Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine | Licensed Acupuncturist & Herbalist

Dr. Malia Ahadi, DACM, L.Ac, is a licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist certified by the California Acupuncture Board and the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is also certified in Clean Needle Technique by the CCAOM.

With a degree in Industrial Engineering and over a decade of experience in the field, Dr. Malia experienced a profound personal transformation through Chinese medicine that led her to change course and study at the Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego. She discovered a deep fulfillment in helping others heal—body, mind, and spirit.

In 2023, Dr. Malia was diagnosed with breast cancer. As she underwent surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and hormonal therapy, she also took advanced training in oncology-focused Chinese medicine. What began as a way to support her own recovery grew into a powerful calling: to help other cancer patients manage the often-overwhelming side effects of treatment—because she truly understands them from the inside out.

Dr. Malia now works with individuals navigating cancer to reduce symptoms such as fatigue, neuropathy, hot flashes, emotional distress, joint pain, and lymphedema, as well as the long-term effects of chemotherapy and hormone therapies. Her care is rooted in empathy, clinical skill, and the belief that healing is always possible—even in the most difficult seasons.

In addition to oncology and wellness care, Dr. Malia specializes in personal injury treatment, supporting patients recovering from auto accidents and physical trauma. She treats conditions such as whiplash, soft tissue injuries, joint pain, traumatic brain injury (TBI), inflammation, and nerve pain using acupuncture, herbal therapy, and tailored rehabilitation techniques to accelerate recovery and reduce pain.

Beyond oncology and personal injury care, she is also skilled in orthopedic acupuncture, sports injuries, stress reduction, and facial rejuvenation. Her clinical training includes work with UCSD athletes and children at Rady Children’s Hospital. She integrates Traditional Chinese Medicine with Japanese acupuncture theory to address both physical and emotional imbalances, helping her patients regain energy, clarity, and resilience.

In her free time, Dr. Malia enjoys yoga, biking, hiking, and being with loved ones. Her journey through cancer has made her not only a skilled practitioner but a compassionate advocate for those seeking healing and strength in the face of adversity.
